| Founders and co-owners Chris and sister Lisa Costello are involved in all aspects of the business, and can usually be found making sandwiches or greeting customers. The sandwich has long been Chris Costello's favorite food. While still in his teens, he began experimenting with sandwich recipes as a hobby, serving them to family and friends. His sandwiches were always such a hit that he coupled them with a few family pasta recipes from "Grandma Costello," and partnered with sister Lisa to open Costello Sandwich & Sides on Roscoe Street in 1998. Their signature oven baked sandwiches, heartwarming soups, made-from-scratch sides and chili proved so popular that they opened a second location in Lincoln Square in 2001. |

The original Costello Sandwich & Sides is located in Roscoe Village, on Roscoe Street just near the Damen intersection. Look for the familiar yellow and red Costello storefront nestled among a collection of friendly neighborhood restaurants, taverns, hair salons, galleries, bakeries and boutiques that make up the heart of Roscoe Village. We offer eat-in, carry out and delivery. During warmer months, alfresco dining is available on our sidewalk cafe and in our spacious backyard patio. | Next to the Ravenswood "L" tracks and just steps away from the Western Avenue Brown Line station, you'll find Costello Sandwich & Sides on Lincoln Avenue. We invite you to join us for one of our delicious sandwiches, then spend the afternoon roaming historic Lincoln Square, where you can visit the many charming shops on the Square, catch a film at the Davis Theater, or take a class or see a concert at the Old Town School of Folk Music! We have a dining room large enough to accommodate groups, and we also offer carry-out. Alfresco dining is available on our sidewalk cafe during warmer months.
